Our journey to the Yellowstone River is less than four weeks away. As a matter of a fact, four weeks from now we will be on the river, and hopefully hooking into a trout or two!
Brooke turns 30 July 2; unfortunately that is day one of our trip. On the agenda for day one, driving 11.5 hours to Spearfish, SD. Spearfish, you say?! After seeing the picture to the left, I said “Oh yes!” Before last night, we had no idea where we wanted to stop night one. We desired a place where we could share some laughs over some libations to celebrate Brooke’s big 3-0. After doing a little research, we happened upon a little gem in South Dakota called Spearfish Creek. Turns out there’s a great little campsite on the creek. Why is this good news? Well, Spearfish Creek happens to be one of the premier trout streams in the Black Hills region. SCORE! Not to mention, it is absolutely beautiful. So now, we don’t have to worry about throwing back some suds in some seedy hotel bar…score again! This trip is shaping up quite nicely!
Counting down the days,
Dustin & Stephanie
